We are pleased to announce that applications for the Japan Friendship Ties Program “MIRAI” 2024/2025 are now open! This short-term youth exchange program invites graduate and undergraduate students, as well as young professionals who study or work in the field of law, to Japan.
The theme set for Tajikistan this year is “Rule of Law,” and the slot allocated to Tajikistan is two.
The title of the program, “MIRAI,” means “future” in Japanese and is also an acronym for Mutual understanding, Intellectual Relations, and Academic exchange Initiative.

Application Deadline: July 10, 2024, at 14:00 (Dushanbe time)
Japan Visit Term: January 15-21, 2025 (+3 days for Pre-exchange program – Online format from Tajikistan)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Tajikistan
- Age: Between 20 and 30 at the time of departure from Tajikistan to Japan (January 15, 2025)
- Affiliation: Must attend a university or organization located in Tajikistan.
- Proficiency in English sufficient for discussion on relevant topics with other participants
- Good academic background
- Good health condition
- Previous Experience: Must not have participated in a Japan visit program funded by the Japanese Government in the past and must not have lived in Japan for more than 6 months in the past.
Required Documents:
1. Valid passport copy
2. Letter of Understanding for Visiting Japan Program
3. “Handling of Personal Information and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Privacy Policy” (refer to Annex 2 and Annex 3 in the online application form)
4. “Academic Transcript” or “Certificate of Enrolment”
5. Photo
